For the past several years, you could see a poll about the NBA All Star game and it would be an easy slam dunk. The west was just stronger. With Miami's win a few years ago in the finals, and some superstar moves from one conference to the other (ie..Garnett), and injuries/aging of other stars (ie..McGrady/Shaq), look at the starters selected for each. I saw the poll posted today and had a hard time deciding who to put as the strongest starters.
Of course, the coaches picks will have a huge impact on the overall squads strengths, but this is the closest two starting squads talent wise I have ever seen. I will actually enjoy this years game. By the way, I'm not gonna sit on the fence. Much to my dismay, I had to pick the East over the West.
